mas q windows, es una cuestion de los procesadores.

de ahi q los micros nuevos de 64bits puedan direccionar hasta 2^64 o sea mas de 1024 Tera Byte (si mi memoria no falla era 1024Tb = 1 Petabyte, pero no toy seguro).

si mis calculos no tan mal son 2048 Petabytes el maximo q podes direccionar con 64bits.

los sistemas operativos para clusters necesitan manejar mucha memoria
por lo gral estan en el orden de los petabyte los cluster
Imaginense cientos de servidores con varios gigas de memorias.
Es necesario administrarla de una manera inteligente
